Habitats and niches are common for any human and animal to be a part of. My habitat, mainly in my bedroom, is rather organized compared to the rest of my home. While muddled furniture is set in place throughout other chambers, I keep my room as a home for peace and colorful objects.
I share the house with my mother, the sloppy one in the family, as well as my two cats, Mitty and Maki. I often do get stressed out over the fact that I’m the only one in the house who cleans up after their self, but I can’t complain too much. I’m overjoyed to have a habitat in the first place!
I also think I’m the only family member who can do one specific job here – that is, cleaning up after the cats; they tend to upchuck a lot. Because the most horrid thing ever is when I find I have stepped on a hairball, I feel like it’s my niche to clean it up.
Other than that, I don’t do a lot of work at my house, making my role of being lazy rather similar to Mitty and Maki’s.
Of course, I do work hard to keep my own bedroom as spotless as I can manage, while my mother isn’t so determined with other rooms; this makes our niches around the house completely different.
In the future, I hope my job of cleaning rejected cat-waste evolves into something more advanced, like preparing dinner or mowing the lawn. I’d like to develop skills for independent work, and I aim to help out a little more around my home, because, after all, it is my habitat.
